THE FORWARD TEST · BITCOIN FILE · TRADE #1 · ENTERED BY THE FROZEN RULE

Bitcoin · crowd short · Oct 2019 over its bar at week 2 · no turn ever confirmed

+6.5%

fade long · graded at the 13-week horizon · on the record for good

entered Oct 14, 2019 · first open after the Oct 8, 2019 reportcrowd short, stretched past 96% of its 3-year range · era: out-of-sample (2019→)window closed without a confirmed turn · the crowd was right

On Oct 8, 2019 the bitcoin crowd was net short past 96% of its own three-year range, so the frozen rule faded it at the Oct 14, 2019 open. It got over its 13.5% bar at week 2, then stalled: no turn was ever confirmed and the 13-week close was +6.5%. Getting there meant sitting through 20.3% against you first, with no stop to take you out of it. Thirteen weeks later, tracked but never graded, it read -16.5%: the opposite side of zero from where the test left it.

WHY THIS TRADE EXISTS

No one chose it. The rule enters every extreme it sees, at the next session’s open, blind, on purpose. This file answers one question: what was the extreme worth, measured against every comparable extreme in bitcoin’s own record? The published answer is “not much”. Most cases do not turn. That is exactly why the file records what else was present when this market did turn.

Why no stop, no exit? Because this is a measurement, not a managed position. The question is what the extreme was worth under one frozen rule, every time: a stop would smuggle discretion and survivorship back into the record. The adverse sit-through is published for exactly that reason, and the clock, not a choice, closes the window at W13.

CONDITIONS AT ENTRY · TRADE #1

2 LEAN TURN · 1 CLOSE · 2 RAN-ON

The conditions here are split · no side of the record clearly matches this trade.

Each condition is compared with bitcoin’s own past: what it read when the crowd turned, and what it read when the crowd ran on. Whichever it sits closer to wins the row. A map for your read, never a rule.
